Although I probably shouldn’t admit this something I really miss about living in the Northeast is shoveling the driveway. Solid family bonding time, good workout, and snowballs end up flying. Plus you get to spend time out in the snow. I think I’m mastering the art.

Smile Friday After what has been a totally low-key vacation at home, I could not have been more excited to meet up with a few of my college girlfriends for a night out on the town. I did however have a few enlightening moments as a result: There are an abundance of scaly caps in Boston There’s a wealth of gentlemen named Timmy, Billy, Mikey, Stevey, Ricky, ect. I do not bounce back like...

I always look forward to walking into the house at Christmas time. Mom always makes it look, and feel, and smell so festive but year after year she truly outdoes herself with the tree. While Mom cook us all a late afternoon turkey dinner, the macho men of the family watch the Disney Christmas Parade “only during football commercials!” After dinner we gather in the family room and...

To really top off my Christmas mood today my Pandora had decided to treat me to Olivia Olson’s version of All I Want For Christmas Is You. As heard in the best Christmas movie there is. Love Actually.

Oh my goodness I’ve actually gone and done it. I’ve signed up for my first organized 5k! I am very: excited, nervous, worried, motivated. I have never run a 5k before I do not think of myself as a ‘runner’ It is going to be very cold! Now I just need to recruit someone who loves me (wink wink Mom) to cheer me on and take pictures (for the blog obviously). Wish me...

Good thing my brother doesn’t know how to read, I mean read this blog, or else I would be revealing what I got him for Christmas. Last weekend I hit the outlets, had a ton of luck, and ended up getting some really cute digs for him. A casual plaid button up and green v-neck sweater (staples) along with a dressier oxford. I also got him a watch which was one of 685 Tumblr-inspired gifts...

Yesterday I was having an utmost craptastic day and I came home and things were instantly turned around when I saw this guy smiling at me from my doorstep (no seriously the box had a big smile on it) My Tumblr Eat Up came! Thank you so so so much Michele for all the goods. They are AMAZING! I am the lucky recipient of shortbread cookies, peppermint brownies, and bourbon balls! Plus she...

THE SOCIAL NETWORK, directed by David Fincher (2010) ‘You better lawyer up, asshole. ‘Cause I’m not just coming back for 30%. I’m coming back for everything.’ This was hands down my favorite movie this year. I’ve seen it three times. If it doesn’t win Best Picture at the Oscars I will be upset. After seeing it for the first time I spent approximately 13 hours Googling Mark...

I’m going to my first spin class. Someone say a prayer. Update: I survived! Peeps in the class were super nice and helpful. Also, I think I sweat off at least 13 lbs. In other news, when does sensation to your chachi return? TMI Tuesday indeed.

Dancing around my office in a fit of complete joy. My blackberry is from the stone age and I’ve had an upgrade for approximately six months now, but I am steadfastly waiting for Verizon to get the iPhone. I have been foaming at the mouth for one, but honestly I could never leave Verizon. Whenever I tell people I’m waiting for a Verizon iPhone they shoot down my dreams and tell me that...

Smile Friday: AKM Edition. I have three soul mates. They come in the form of Alana, Katelyn, and Michelle. (Alphabetical order, not preferential). So we’ve already established that I love to slow dance. But more so than dancing I apparently love a good thumbs up. Whether it’s out to dinner for a friend’s birthday creepily sitting alone at the end of a bar while your friend is trying to spit game on a boat during spring break right before a round of ride the bus on the way home from a Pearl Jam concert ...

Another thing that happened this weekend was baking for my Tumblr Eat Up* buddy! Who says gluten free can’t be amazing? On Saturday night the roommates and I put on an incredible Christmas playlist and decorated the house. It ended up turning out super cute and every time I walk down the stairs I forget we have a real life tree and squeal with delight. Even when its 72 degrees outside there can never be too much holiday spirit I say!

Dad: I just tried to set up an American Express account online so I can see the stuff in the rewards points catalog.
Dad: (Annoyed) Apparently it's only online now.
Joanna: 21st century, welcome to it.
Dad: So I go through all the steps. It takes me about 20 minutes. Why do they need to know my mom's maiden name?
Joanna: It's just for security purposes.
Dad: So anyways, after all of that I get to the end and it asks for an email address.
Dad: And I put 'None'.
Dad: And it told me I was rejected.
Joanna: (near dying of laughter) You have to have an email address in order to set up any online account.
Dad: That is ridiculous. Give me your email address. I'm just going to use yours.

I love to slow dance. Not the kind of, ‘We’re at a wedding waiting for the cake to be cut, let’s use proper social etiquette’ but more the kind of, ‘I understand we are in line at Pinkberry but Someone Like You (Van version) is playing, I mean we can’t not.’ I absolutely love it.
